Diversity & Anti-Bias Training
Having spent a large part of her professional life in the world of human resource administration and employment law counseling, over the course of more than two decades, Jo has often been called to train staff and corporate groups in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Jo’s brand of diversity and anti-bias training is effective because she focuses on educating participants about the nature and impact of biases and prejudices and provides them with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and overcome these biases. In addition to raising implicit bias awareness and advancing cultural competency, Jo encourages allyship and advocacy such that participants in her training programs may learn how to speak up on behalf of the marginalized or underrepresented and act against discrimination. Needless to say, effective diversity and anti-bias training should be tailored to the specific needs and context of the organization and its employees and Jo importantly seeks leadership buy-in and commitment to implementing the training and to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
